![]() I have been seeing on the forums for years a lot of support for live looping, control of speed/steps in fader movement when trying to dial in small changes on a small screen, more/better/global control of various mixer collapse/expanding, better mixer use of the insert/send area (I really liked Steinberg’s approach), modular-like tools, integrated modulators and more. I come from Nuendo/Cubase and their MIDI workflow was nice, plus Reaper has bus freeze, why does S1 not? Also, a better track freeze history and there are still issues with freezing and track edits. I have been seeing in the forums for a few years people suggesting things that seem useful. I mean, the highlights are instrument pictures, a deesser, vocoder, lyrics, nicer start page, easier templates, fader flip? The only serious features I see are the video track, panning and track presets. In general, I agree, but, in this case, when the new owner of the company said the focus for S1 is making it easier, which is not a pro/serious user direction, and then the next major release seems almost completely focused on candy, it seems to cement the idea this is is a sinking ship for some pro/serious users. Most companies are shying away from huge public betas as it taxes their support infrastructure and interferes with marketing pushes.Īlso, a lot of social media hate comes from users who don’t even use the software. The UI has been refreshed and UI Performance there is actually good now - those were really the biggest issues with that DAW.Ībleton Live 11 was an update sold as an upgrade. MAGIX has addressed many of their big-ticket issues and added some nice features. ![]() ![]() However, their primary market segment seems to be with beatmakers, and it still outcompetes Grooveboxes like Maschine and MPC, and is far superior for Audio Recording workflows than something like FL Studio. Reason needs major sequencer updates that people have been begging for, for a decade. Cubase 12 was a very decent upgrade, even ignoring them dropping the dongle.
